Voyage au centre de la Terre

Voyage au centre de la Terre  is a novel by science fiction , written in 1864by Jules Verne . It was published in the original edition in 18-November 25, 1864, then gd 8vo May 13, 1867. The text of 1867 is different from 1864. Having discovered an ancient runic script, a scientist, his nephew and their guide on a journey to the center of the Earth by entering a volcano off Icelandic, Sneffels. As usual Jules Verne's novel is a clever mix of scientific data, extrapolations of daring and adventure. The introduction of the novel reflects the craze then for a young science, cryptology. The rest goes on with a description of Iceland in the late xix th  century, and a wide introduction to two other sciences booming, the paleontology and geology.
