This section contains a general description of the Motorola MC6809 and MC6809EMicroprocessor Units (MPU). Pin assignments and a brief descriptions of each input/output signal are also given. The term MPU, processor, or M6809 will be used throughout this manualto refer to both the MC6809 and MC6809E processors. When a topic relates to only one of the processors, that specific designator ( MC6809 or MC6809E ) will be used.
