Examines how agricultural protection has changed over the past six years since the implementation of trade liberalization for agricultural and nonagricultural products in most Latin American countries. The study examines the effects of trade reform on real farm prices and the status of tariffs and quanitative restrictions in these countries. The analysis identifies areas where additional reforms are needed and discusses the current trade policies of these countries in the context of the Uruguay Round Agreement.
