Reading Resources

This book is designed to develop a thorough competence in reading English. It is aimed at adult learners at pre-intermediate level and above and can be used in a variety of ways: as a reading skills course, for supplementary reading, for examination practice and for self-study. All the reading texts are authentic and in their original form. They have been taken from a wide variety of international sources - from Britain, America, Europe and Japan. The book contains six sections covering newspaper, fact-sheets, consumer goods and services, advertising, travel and tourism, and dictionaries and libraries. Each section is clearly organized, containing 5 double-page spreads and additional consolidation work. They cover a wide range of reading skills, including matching exercises, skimming, scanning, information transfer and intensive reading.
