The Oxford Spanish Dictionary

Description

Incorporating Oxford's highly acclaimed and newly updated Spanish unabridged dictionary, this new CD-ROM features a simple, powerful, and user-friendly interface. This electronic version of the recently published third edition includes 20,000 new entries over all the 24 regional variations of Spanish, the high-quality text-to-speech software that allows users to select and listen to whole-phrase translations or one-word pronunciations, and a new section on the cultures of the Spanish and English-speaking worlds. Once the dictionary is open on a computer desktop, double-clicking on a word in a Spanish or an English document will take users automatically to the entry for that word. Users will also be able click on a word in the displayed entry text and jump directly to the other side of the dictionary for a translation. Full text and advanced search features offer easy access to the 300,000 words and phrases and over 480,000 translations, as well as the power to filter searches to particular sections of entries, such as idioms, examples, or parts of speech. The entries also link users to relevant cultural notes, additional grammar and usage information, and appropriate verb tables. With the most authentic and contemporary coverage of Spanish, the CD-ROM offers unrivaled coverage of the language and is a valuable tool.
