The major focus, however, is on the medical disorders of anxiety.Chapters 2 and 3 present the story of trials to make sense of these disorders, leading to the explosion of knowledge in the last half century. Chapter 4 briefly describes the various anxiety disorders; presents research on genetics, models of etiology, and statistics showing the prevalence of anxiety disorders in the population (epidemiology); and provides information on cultural aspects of anxiety disorders.
